Gareth is vijftien en vertelt over zijn wel heel bijzondere gezinssituatie. Zijn vader wilde namelijk liever als vrouw door het leven gaan en heeft een geslachtsverandering ondergaan. Dus nu heeft Gareth twee moeders en geen vader meer. Ze wonen op een klein boerderijtje op het platteland in het zuiden van Ierland. Tot zijn zesde levensjaar had Gareth een vader en een moeder zoals de meeste kinderen. Bovendien kwam tante Diane vaak op bezoek, maar alleen als papa er niet was. Pas op zijn vierde ontdekte Gareth dat Tante Diane niet de zus van papa was, maar dat het zijn vader zelf was die zich verkleedde als tante Diane. Gareth's moeder Caroline wist al voor ze met Richard trouwde dat hij zich graag als vrouw verkleedde. Toch was het voor haar ook wel even wennen toen hij zich tot vrouw wilde laten ombouwen. We zien hoe Gareth onderzoekt waarom zijn vader zo graag een vrouw wilde zijn en we zijn getuige van de zeer intieme gesprekken die de vijftienjarige Gareth met zijn ouders voert, maar we zien ook hoe humoristisch het gezin met deze vreemde situatie omgaat.

Ze zijn ook te vinden op internet, al is van deze de kwaliteit denk ik niet al te hoog (afgemeten aan de grootte van de files). Het downloaden gaat vrij langzaam dus pas over een uurtje of 6 kan ik daar daadwerkelijk een uitspraak over doen. En ik kan er niets aan doen, maar ik vindt die borsten er zo nep uitzien. Net halve meloenen. Je ziet gewoon direct dat dat kunsttieten zijn.
